How To Get More From Your Website And Online Business

How do you get the most from your website and online business? Entrepreneurs have been asking themselves this since the dawn of the Internet. Unfortunately for them, they have been over complicating the answers. It is actually very simple in theory and challenging in practice to attain a successful website. It's important to focus less on the theories and more on the administration. And how do you do that? By honing in on your passions and pursuing what interests you. If you can do this, then you can be guaranteed that your target audience will be as enthralled by your site and business as you are. But that requires believing in something. Here's how you are able to tap into the passion and harness it for the benefit of your business:
Brainstorm ideas
What interests you? If you had more money than you would ever need to live on, what would you spend your time doing? Once you can answer this question beyond a shadow of a doubt, then you are well on your way to developing the kind of website that you need to survive. But you cannot rest on your laurels. You have to develop the idea into something that is sustainable. To accomplish this, you must brainstorm even more. Get ready to discover who you are and what makes you happy, because without this knowledge, you are not going to accomplish the things that you want for the business and website.
Develop content
Your ideas must translate into something tangible. It is important that you work hard to develop compelling content for an audience. Otherwise, why would they want to visit your site over and over again and tell their friends? If you want to have success, then you're going to have to make your site a compelling place to surf. But if you have done the necessary work from brainstorming, then it is going to be a lot easier to develop a game plan that will ensure quality is there for your audience when they come calling for it.
Get comfortable with numbers
Not all numbers are bad, even if you are a person of words. You have, even above dollars and cents, got to learn your website numbers because they are essentially your calling card and catalyst for big advertising revenue, and they are also an indication of whether your content is doing its job getting you word of mouth and growing your audience. By watching your numbers, it is possible to figure out what you are doing right, what you are doing right, and what you should be doing next. Until you learn to tap into your audience and the trends that you create, you will never be successful.

How To Make A Website Stand Out

Internet today has become so highly fluid and competitive that it is nearly impossible to find a way to standout or out rank your competition on a small or even medium size budget. Yes I know you rank really well for one or even two search terms and if you do great, but if not, you might want to pay attention.
How To Advertise For WAHM And Stand Out
1.) Website Design Basics
Its time to build your website, but how do you know who you should be designing for? How should the layout, colors, navbar and text look? You see its not as simple as slapping a website together in a week using yahoo or godaddy website builders and then showing all of your friends. So where do you start? Here are a list questions you should first answer.
2.) Who Exactly are to trying to reach? Age, sex, generational trends? Do your customers like brand names, green products or all natural products? You must take all of this into account and more when looking at website design. I hardly think that a 35 year old mom wants to see a skinny 25 year old woman, half naked on a website trying to sell blankets for kids. A little extreme I know, but you get the point.
3.) Once you have answered all the necessary questions you can start putting together your layout. But what type of a layout do you need?
How many pages do you need?
Will your navigation be on the left, right or top?
Do you need a navbar with drop downs?
Do you require a sidebar? What will go in that side bar?
How many different content areas will you need on each page?
4.) Don't forget about your demographics. They are the key to everything you are going do with your business. Now using your demographics, you can start on your website aesthetics.
What colors will you use? (limit yourself to three)
What type of images will you use?
What font will you use? (yes your font actually says a lot about you.)
Do you need or even want a logo?
5.) Put it all together and then take some time to check out other websites. Finds websites you like and find websites you don't like. Point of fact: Finding websites that have elements you don't like is actually more important than finding websites you do like. I once asked a client to give me a list of three websites they didn't like.
6.) Find a company to build your site. Keep in mind that the most expensive company could be ripping you off and the least expensive company may not be the best fit either. Asking for references is pointless. I mean, who in their right mind is going to give a your a bad reference to contact. Instead ask for a couple of sites they have completed.
7.) Just because YOU built it, does not mean THEY will come. You will need to market your site and make sure you can be found in search engines. This will take money, time, consistency and effort, but most of all, patience.
