7 Things I wish someone had said, the novice

(Number 1) items, documents, etc. benefits for the project, which, that you, in a location work. It is with this in mind, that I suggest that you keep all your login information and passwords in one place.
Personally, I use a Word document but Notepad is sufficient. When I was on some work this is the first, what, that I open. There is nothing worse, so that the effort to get up early, work in the morning on something, then waste 20 minutes or more attempt access to relevant Web sites that you do not need the details, get new passwords, because you thought that they currently would remind you that you establish. This requires access to your e-Mail account, which all need Zeit.Dieser discipline will later help when your get website online and one you really project folder.
(Number 2) store your password document to an external data source, such as such as a flash drive, so if emergency, you can access your work from another computer and keep you regularly updated.
(Point 3) when you something change, keep in mind, save it before you with something else, or I close the app, program, document, etc., know that computers are supposed to automatically save, but twice beat Flash in case!
(Point 4) focus on a topic at a time. You need to understand SEO, social media, AdWords, blogging, but select an and to master it before trying to tackle the next topic. As a newbie, there is a tendency, hop from one to another can be large, but it should be resisted until to the present topic well enough understood to explain it to a friend over a pint.
(Number 5) in yourself – money and time, learning and training itself be prepared to invest. Things change fast on the Internet, so you want to earn keep, keep to learn.
(Point 6) don't have to work things, be prepared for failure. We will be doomed to due something negative. Thought you was it about, what you have tried, the failure, not you. History proves that successful people accept that something has not worked and, try something different. It's called the change approach.
(Point 7) treat yourself enough time to perform the tasks you have set yourself. Nothing is more than the search after you have made a mistake after hours of hard work and study discouraging.

How to Create an Email Address

If you have been recently exposed to the world of internet, there are a few things that you must learn and do so before you can move forward. Probably one of the most important things is to create an email address for yourself. An email address is your identity on the internet where people can contact you and send you online messages. Having an email address means you can stay in touch with your family, relatives and friends. The best part is it doesn't matter where they are because you can easily stay in touch with them through emails. You also get the option of sending pictures, sharing videos and chatting in real-time by using your email address.
Thinking of creating an email address but don't know how too? Then listen up! You can easily create your email address by logging on to websites that provide you with this service. The first thing you're required to do is pick a company that you want to create your email address on. There are a lot of different companies to choose from but the most well known and loved are: Gmail, Hotmail and Yahoo mail.
After you are done with picking the company you want to use, visit their website, and click on the "create an account" icon. You will be transported to a page where you will be required to give basic information about yourself such as; your name, location, country, age, gender etc. if you are using any of three companies mentioned above do not hesitate to give your personal information to them because they will safeguard your information and won't let anyone access it.
While creating an email address, choosing the right username can be tricky because your desired username might already be in use. In case you cannot keep the username you want, you can always add some numerical numbers or shorten your username such as; adamsmith80 @ gmail.com or adsmith @ gmail.com.
When creating a password always remember to come up with one that you can remember easily and something that will be hard for other people to figure out. You would be required to come up with a password that has a minimum of eight characters. It is wise to use one or two capital letters or numerical values in the password because that would help in keeping your email id safe but always remember to keep a password that you can remember easily!
You would be asked to agree to the privacy policy and the terms of services the company provides, you don't really have to read whatever is written in those documents because it has all the basic stuff in them. After you have filled out all the information and agreed to the policies, your account will be created and you can start using it right then.
It is very simple to create an email id of your very own and you can even have more than one email id for yourself. The best part of making an email address is that it is absolutely free!

The 6 Worst Work From Home Business Opportunities Of All Time

Here are the 6 biggest rip-off work from home business opportunities of all time:
1. Medical Billing
With the rising cost of health care and the large bureaucratic insurance companies, medical billing seems like it should have a lot of potential to make you some serious money. The truth, however, is that very few doctors do their own billing anymore.
The first issue, though, is that you need a license to be a medical biller in most states. Secondly, doctors outsource their medical billing to companies, not individuals. So any money you have to pay upfront for software and training to be a medical biller? You can kiss it goodbye...
2. A List Of Companies Looking For Home Workers...
If only you could buy a list of companies who are looking for hard-working and dedicated people just like yourself to do some tasks in the comfort of your home that they will pay you for... Well, you can!
Only it will be a generic list of companies that don't do this sort of thing. Because no real company hires workers like this. So save your money - don't buy the list.
3. Typing At Home
If you have any form of computer skills at all, it would seem that a typing at home position would be a great work from home business opportunity.
Unfortunately, though, the only typing you would be doing is to try and place ads to convince more people to type at home for money. Essentially, you are just perpetuating the scam!
4. Email Processing
Imagine if you could earn $10 for every email you sent... I bet you could send 25 emails an hour for a very long time. Unfortunately, though, is that email processing is very similar to the "Envelope Stuffing" scam below.
And just like the "Typing at Home" scam above, in order to make any money from home, you would only be sending emails in order to get more people to sign up to process emails!
5. 1-900 Numbers
1-900 numbers cost money to dial. The longer the scammer can keep you on the line once you call, the more money they make off of you. Do not call any 1-900 numbers.
6. Envelope Stuffing
This is, perhaps, the most recognizable work from home scam of all time. You are promised to make $.50 - $1.00 per envelope you stuff! Never mind that machines can do this menial task 500 times faster than the average human...
These are the 6 biggest scam work from home business opportunities out there. This does not mean that all opportunities are bad, however. In fact, there are plenty of real work from home business opportunities... and there are lots of people who make a great income from the work they do at home. These 6 examples are just the ones you need to avoid! As with anything, you need to take the time to evaluate a work from home offer on its merits and avoid opportunities like the ones above.
A great way to start looking for real business opportunities is by clicking HERE...to find out how you can get started with your own legitimate online business.

Using Law Of Attraction To Make More Money - How To Do It

Have you ever heard of law of attraction? If not let me quickly explain what it is. The law of attraction is a metaphysical belief that "like attracts likes" and that positive thinking attracts positive results and negative thinking attracts negative results. It has been around for hundreds of years and more and more people are finding themselves implementing law of attraction to better their lives in many ways. In this article I am going to go over quickly how you can start using this amazing tool to help you start making more money online. Before I really get into it I do want to recommend a movie to watch. The movie I am referring to is "The Secret." This movie gives you a general idea of what law of attraction is and has received much praise and popularity over the years.
If you have been struggling to make money online or are just getting started you may have realized that it can be somewhat difficult to start earning the money that you would like to. If this sounds like you just know that you are not a lone and that this is a very common issue.. Trying to get your online business going can be overwhelming at times and present many frustrations. To many frustrations will start creating doubts and doubts is the last thing that you want especially when it comes to making money online.
So how do we use law of attraction to increase our income? The answer is very simple. All you need to do is follow these steps.
You must believe. If you do not believe that you can be successful online then you probably will not be. You have to know that it is going to happen for you. Just know it.
Always give positive vibrations. Law of attractions is all about vibrations and there are only 2 of them. Positive vibes and negative vibes. Law of attraction states that whatever vibes you send out is what you will get back. This is pretty important because it is common for people to say "I need to make money" but saying that you need something sends out a negative vibe. So if you're always saying that you need money you will get in return you always needing money. Instead you should say and think things like "I would like to make more money" or "I am working towards making more money". This little adjustment in your thought process can do wonders for you and your business.
Be patient. Some who decide to use law of attraction to help them make more money will be all in it for a week or 2 and when they are not millionaires by then will quit. Law of attraction does work but one of the most important factors to it working is allowing ti to work. Be patient and believe.

Ultimate Law of Building Your Own Profitable Internet Business - Part 2

In part 1 of this article you figured out the first 2 steps you need to take to set up a profitable system that will take your online business to the next level.Let us recap the first 2 steps...
1. Create a profitable system. In this case you will have to set up your website, products and everything it takes to set up your own successful system that you feel will make you money in the long run.
2. The second step is to test the system. You should know the return on investment your system is giving you if you invest your time, money and energy. If you invest $1 into your system you should be sure that it is giving you back $3 or even $5 in return in the long run. Once you have tested your system you can move on to step 3...
3. The third step is to speed up your system.
For example: Let us assume that you use article marketing to drive traffic to your newly created system, in this case it is your website.
You have tested that one article costs you $3 if you outsource the writing of your article.
One article gets you 10 visitors and 3 leads in a span of 6 months to your website.
3 leads make you a net profit of $30 in a span of 12 months.
With this you know that for every $3 you invest in writing one article right now ends up earning you $30 in next 12 months. All you need to do to make big money with your system is speed up your system.
Start writing 100 articles and you will invest $300 right now and earn $3000 approximately.
Start writing 1000 articles and you will invest $3000 right now and end up earning $30,000 approximately.
Let us move on to the step 4...
4. All you need to do now to get rich and make money beyond your wildest dreams on autopilot is to reinvest your profits.
If we take the above example, you decide to re-invest 30% of your profits back into your system. If you are writing 100 articles, you are earning $3000. You now decide to re-invest 30% that is $900 back into your system and write more articles.
This $900 will turn up and make you $9000 approximately in next 12 months. Imagine taking 30% back from your $9000 profits and again re-investing back into your system. This will keep growing your system to the level you desire.
Once you are at this stage the only thing you will have to do is manage your system efficiently and use the power of leverage, that is other people's time and energy to grow your online business.

Top 4 Things to Keep in Mind When Shopping for Styling-Barber Chairs

The Styling-Barber chair is the most important piece of equipment in your shop because it will get the most use. Whether you are a long standing owner in the process of opening a new salon or barbershop finding a styling or barber chair can be overwhelming. In this article I am going to give you the top 4 things to keep in mind.1. The most important thing to keep in mind is comfort. You will want your styling/barber chair to be comfortable not only for the customer but for the stylist/barber as well. Your customer will spend the majority of their time sitting down. It is vital that they are able to relax and enjoy whatever service they are receiving that day. Some features that promote comfort are reclining seat back, padded armrests, hydraulic pump, a ribbed footrest, and a quality material that covers the seat.
2. When choosing your chair it needs to be practical yet stylish. Classic and timeless styles can be good choices because they never go out of fashion. You would be able to keep these chairs even if you decided to change the décor of your shop. Your chairs should complement the design of your salon or barbershop.
3. When choosing color you will want it to be inviting but not too loud or bold. A base color like cream or black work well with any design. If you decide you want your chairs to "pop" just make sure it doesn't take away from the atmosphere of your shop. You will want to keep in mind some occupational factors such as the use of colors, tints, and chemicals that can stain your chairs.
4. The final thing is to plan early! When you are in the design stage of your salon or barbershop you will want to think about the size of your shop. You do not want your furniture to take up too much space nor do you want it to look too bare. You want customers and staff to be able to move around shop with ease. Many quality chairs can take anywhere from six to twelve weeks to arrive.
One final thought is that you will want your chairs and other furniture to appeal to everyone. Keep in consideration older and younger generations, men and women, and professionals and homemakers. Have fun shopping for your grand opening or update of your salon or barbershop.

Watch Your Online Reputation

Like it or not, we are now all members of the technology age. Some of us have jumped into this era with enthusiasm and excitement about the opportunities the World Wide Web has to offer us as entrepreneurs. Still others have been hesitant and reluctant to expose their companies, and themselves, to a loss of privacy and control. We have also struggled with the issues of producing an online presence that represented our companies professionally and provided an easy to use platform for our clients. As the pressure mounted for companies to establish an online presence, software and security companies scrambled for ways to preserve user privacy and at the same time, make it easier for business owners to create and load attractive, effective, web sites. Today, estimates on Yahoo suggest that more than 65% of all businesses in the United States have active websites.
In the last few years, the technology has taken on a more social side. Instead of relying just on an impersonal, albeit attractive and easy-to-use website, business owners are now spreading the word about their companies and their products through a myriad of social networks like Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, etc. These sites allow owners to interact directly with their clients and be more "in the moment" with them. Business owners can provide updates in a timely manner and even introduce new products and special deals without spending a dime on advertizing-clients even help by clicking "like" and sharing the businesses' pages with others, thereby spreading the word about the business exponentially. Blogs and tweets are cropping up all over the place. These are yet another way to spread the word about the merits of different products and addressing customer questions in a public forum.
All of this amazing, cost-effective advertising should leave you confident that you have done everything possible to attract and keep new customers, and to keep existing customers content-but don't let your guard down yet. There are a few key things to be aware of before you launch your company online:
The layout should be eye-catching with some white space so that features stand out
There should be navigational tools that assist viewers in getting from one place to another easily and logically
The grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure should be flawless
Pages should load quickly
Without attention to these things, your professional reputation may be shot before you make your first sale. While there are business owners with the skills needed to produce a professional web presence, most will benefit from the services of an Online Reputation Management (ORM) professional.
If you look closely at your competitors' websites you may discover that while some are excellent, others are less than professional, and some are just an embarrassment. The thing that some business owners miss-especially those that don't have a professional managing their online reputation-is that this website, or blog, or tweet, represents them and their companies. In fact, a website may be the only exposure your client has to your company. People will look elsewhere if the information on your site is hard to read, or difficult to navigate. If the articles are disorganized or full of poor grammar people may be turned off. To put it in perspective, you would dress professionally and speak correctly if you were face-to-face with a customer, and your site should reflect that same professionalism because that site is how people around the world will judge you and your company. This is not the kind of thing you want to trust to a novice.
Another caution is how you use the social networks to communicate with your customers. While it is great to take that bold step into the new millennium and start using the communication tools that the members of gen X and Y use with such ease-proceed with care. A bad review of your company or your products will spread like wildfire through these very same forums with just the click of a mouse, and before you know what hit you, your business reputation will be in tatters.
A professional ORM can make all the difference in how your business is perceived in the online world. They know how to use these different sites to get the word out about your business without risking your professional reputation. They know how to field questions, and address aggressive comments without putting your company in a bad light, and how to promote it in a way that will reflect the professional image you want the world to see.

Want to Make $100 a Day? How to Radically Re-Invent Your Business in the Next 30 Days

In this article I'm going to give you a simple strategy for radically re-inventing your online business, in the next 30 days. It's not theory. And it's not some sort of "new age nonsense" that requires you to abandon your common sense for the sake of trying to make sales.
Instead, I'm going to lay out the exact system I used to generate millions and millions of readers, in a veritable avalanche of unique pen names, niches, products and promotions, and how you can actually IMPROVE upon my results by following the simple dicta below (most of which I learned far later in the process described below).
I'm also going to explain what I believe is the absolute EASIEST way for anyone to earn $100 a day from scratch, and how so too can you, even if you've had no success thus far at all.
The easiest way to radically reinvent your business in the next 30 days?
To simplify, you need to apply a system I call "The Strategy of Straight Lines".
At its core, it revolves around 3 simple steps.
Articles (like this one)
Opt Ins (the "bridge" page that builds your community)
Offers (how your turn readers into customers, clients and ultimately, cash flow)
This is NOT about push button profits, or building a zillion automatic blogs, or using Squidoo lenses, HubPages or even Google ads.
It's about focusing on creating CONTENT.
And then using that content to create a COMMUNITY.
And ultimately, codifying your content into something you can teach, preach, coach, sell or offer your community for cash. (I call this your curriculum)
This can certainly be an affiliate offer if you don't have something yet of your own, although I'd prefer to see you have a SERVICE you can offer in an area that you have PASSION, and feel a strong pull of purpose to your work.
The beauty of this system is its SIMPLE.
You really don't even need a website (as you can do most of your follow-up through an auto-responder).
To turn this into a $100 a day business is really, really simple.
It's really more about MATH, than marketing.
Create premium products or programs of your own, and price them fairly, but in a way that values YOUR expertise, authority as well.
It's very easy to sell 10 $297 products over the course of a month if you are constantly creating content and community (which translates into $100 a day).
It's also very easy to sell a couple 4 figure coaching programs to people who WILL get massive benefit from what you do best (especially in personal development niches like diet, dating, divorce, nutrition, exercise, spiritual direction, life coaching, etc.).
If you DON'T have time to create your own product, find a high EPC affiliate offer that is reputable, and dovetails with your own ethos and values, and offer that instead!
The good news?
I CHALLENGE you to try to prove me wrong! Pick your passion, focus on simplicity and straight lines, as above. Content. Community. Curriculum. And CONVERSION. (your recipe for a rewarding new year in 4 simple steps)!

Website Launched: Now Return to Earth

After talking, planning and organizing for months on end, your business finally has a new, professional-looking website. You and your team are feeling pleased with your accomplishment and you all think the website is looking fantastic. After your initial euphoria, however, you may get round to wondering what you're going to do next. A website cannot exist in the realm of cyberspace on its own, without any future input from you. It is now in the public domain, and open to scrutiny from potential customers. The problem with websites is that the work is never finished.A website does not have its own consciousness or ability to evolve independently. Someone needs to provide the input to enable the website to grow with your business, and to ensure that the technical glitches and out-of-date content is removed. That someone is a web writer.
You may be concerned about whether you can afford to hire someone who specializes in writing for the web. You may think the easy option is to get a tech-savvy staff member to maintain the company website. But would you get a computer engineer to do publicity for your company? No. So why get someone without the necessary expertise to manage your website? Your website is the equivalent of an online store, with the potential to attract new customers and high-level sales. Investing in your website is fundamental to your business.
Website content must be presented in a manner that attracts new customers. It should also evolve and change along with your growing company. A web writer can help determine what content should be included in your website. For example, what information do you feel is needed in the main text of your website? What links do you plan to implement and what information do you plan to use in the subheadings? How do you plan to arrange your text and photos on the main page in order to make information more readable? A web writer knows the answers to all of these questions.
Web writers also have in-depth knowledge of strategies for search optimization; that is, the methods of encouraging potential clients and customers to visit your website. They know the kind of things that people search the Internet for, and how to connect these searches to your website. A good web writer will constantly modify and update your website content to align it with the way that people search for your business.
But getting them to your website is only half the battle. The web writer can help you make your website look fresh and inviting so that potential customers will want to spend a few moments at your site. The web writer will know where to place your products on the page to draw the reader in and increase sales.
Perhaps you did not use a web writer to initiate your original website. That is okay. There are people skilled in the basic design and implementation of a new website. The web writer's job is to maintain what you started. What were the goals you wanted to achieve with your website? You probably wanted to expand your business and show the world what you have to offer. That is great, but will you still offer the same services and business a month from now? What about a year from now? Is this the same website you want up for the next few years? You most certainly do not. That is why you need someone skilled in keeping a pulse on your business and implementing those changes and updates on your website.
If your business has a website, your business also needs a web writer. The investment will reap rewards in the long term. Many customers will form their first impressions of your business by visiting your website. It provides you with the best opportunity to expand your business online so treat it as you would other aspects of your business. Your website needs to be kept current and develop in tandem with your business. Your website is a powerful tool, which should not be undervalued.

Content Marketing for Dummies

Susan Gunelius is the author of Content Marketing for Dummies and is also a colleague as the Guide to Blogs. Susan is also President and CEO of KeySplash Creative, Inc. a marketing communications company.Content Marketing for Dummies is the definitive guide on how to create, promote and benefit from custom created content for your online marketing.
Content Marketing for Dummies is an actionable and easy to follow guide to marketing with content. You’ll learn about the different types of content, how to create them and promote them. There are lists of tools and approaches to help make your marketing efforts successful. Recommended reading for everyone who wants to make their business successful.
I must say, I love a good Dummies book. The format is consistent and easy to follow. The modular style of the books allows them to be read either from front to back or by random chapters. This is great, as it saves lots of time. Simply jump to the section you are interested in and start reading.
Getting Started with a Content Marketing PlanMarketing with Long-Form ContentMarketing with Short-Form ContentEngaging in Online Conversations to Share ContentAcheiving Long-Term SuccessThe Part of TensAppendixes
One of the things I love about the dummies books, is that they are an easy read. This book is no different. It breaks this complex topic into easily understandable segments that can be implemented.
For example, Chapter 5 (Using Video, Audio, Online Events and E-Mail for Long-Form Content Marketing) discusses “Creating Videos”. Instead of simply advising creating a video and uploading it to YouTube, Gunelius breaks it down. Over eight pages, you’ll learn about:
Creating VideosKnowing what kind of videos to createFinding tools to create and upload videosUploading videos for maximum sharing and discussionCreating a YouTube channelCreating screencastsPromoting your videos
After reading this section, you will be ready to get started. You will know what type of content you should film and with what type of gear. You will know the software to use to edit it, how to create your YouTube channel and how to upload it. And the final step of getting people to view it. It is all here.
Many marketing books are great on concept, but low on the actual how-to of implementation. This book covers both.
One of the other sections that is very useful for getting started with content marketing are the tips on how to write for the web. Gunelius covers formatting, proofing, writing long and short form and finding your voice.
There are many books about generating traffic, creating blogs and branding. This book ties all these concepts together in an exceptional way. If you want to create effective (and low cost) marketing you should buy this book.

What Does It Take to Become an Online Freelancer?

As time passes by, the cost of living anywhere is continuously skyrocketing. Gone are the days when you can buy a complete set of meals for only a few dollars. Today, everybody is required to work doubly hard in order to survive. If you're working as a regular employee, I bet that you're working non-stop from nine to five. Perhaps, you go home stressed out everyday because of the thick piles of documents which you need to finish in time, or else your boss would be there nagging at you all day long. The high demands of the modern world along with the onset of the internet paved way for more income opportunities. Many people these days earn decent income because of work at home jobs. Working at home is very beneficial especially for moms because it helps them be there for their families and monitor their children on a daily basis. Even husbands who have been working on regular jobs back then have decided to just stay at home working online.
As the name implies, online freelancers can work on different online jobs as they are not tied up or committed to one company. They can accept projects from different clients so long as they can finish assigned tasks on time. If you are tired of going to the office everyday and is looking for higher compensation, today is the best time to consider being a freelancer. But before looking online, it is very important that you understand what it takes to be a freelancer.
Inner motivation
On the first few months of your online job, you will feel excited about taking job offers. Many freelancers however feel bored with their daily routines. Having early deadlines and rejected works can also be very frustrating. So, it is very important to keep your composure. Nobody would motivate you to stay in front of your computer but yourself. Your inner motivation would be your best weapon for online success.
Sense of balance
When you start to work as a freelancer, it is very important to keep your balance. Some of my friends who are also working as writers, typists and others seemed to be eaten up by their high compensation. Do not spend one day without leaving the computer. Spend an hour or two to play with your kids, watch TV with your spouse or go out with your friends. Always keep a time for relaxation. Do not push yourself to the limit.
Your own home office
It is very essential for all freelancers to have their own home office because working online is mentally draining. You invest your ideas and it's important not to be disturbed. Install your computer with internet connection in an isolated place away from the living room where your kids love to play. Talk to them and tell them not to disturb you when you work but allot special moments for them.
A little investment
It's a fact that you can earn online without spending. Needless to stay, you will have to invest a little for a steady and fast internet connection. Aside from this only requirement, you might also be required to join paid memberships on some work at home sites. Look for legitimate freelance sites which give steady flow of projects on their premium members.

Adobe Acrobat X Pro Review

Adobe Acrobat X Pro is available as a standalone product (visit Adobe's Acrobat X Pro page), or in the new Adobe Acrobat X Suite (visit Adobe's Acrobat X Pro Suite page) which includes:
Acrobat X ProPhotoshop CS5Adobe Captivate 5Adobe Presenter 7Adobe LiveCycle Designer ES2 andAdobe Media Encoder CS5
What is an action? If you are familiar with either Photoshop or Illustrator then you understand what actions are. You can think of it like a recipe where you enter in all the steps to get a specific result. When you tell the program to replay those steps, your guaranteed to get the exact same results. Well the action function has been saving Adobe users lots of time and frustration for years. Now, this feature is available in the new Acrobat X.
For organizations, this is more than a time saving feature. By creating specific actions, administrators can ensure consistent appearance of documents and branding. These actions can be exported and emailed. The newly received action can be double clicked and executed (like a mini program) to be imported and used on the users system. The new action is automatically added to the Action Option menu. This is going to be a very popular feature.
Some of the pre-built actions include:
Archive Paper DocumentsPrepare for DistributionPrepare for ReviewPrepare for Web PublishingPublish Sensitive DocumentsCreate Accessible PDFs
So, what’s a shared review? When developing a document, either for internal use or a client, you now have the option to send it out for review. Of course, you could always do that, but with the shared review feature, you can receive suggestions and comments in an organized and constructive way. By using Acrobat.com web service the comments are connected, or tagged, to the specific area of the document that it relates to. So when you want to review the required changes and suggestions, it is part of the review document. See who suggested what, when and for what part of the document. This feature will be of special interest to online businesses, as Web pages can be saved into the PDF, and sent for review to management teams or clients.
This great collaboration tool will save time, and make it easier to get specific feedback on developing projects.
This is a feature long overdue. For years Adobe and Microsoft just didn’t get along. Then Microsoft began offering the ability to save their Word and Excel documents into PDF format. And now users have the ability to go the other way and export into Microsoft format from a PDF. And what’s really great is that it can be in whole – or in part. Tables inside of a PDF file maintain their formatting when exported into an Excel spreadsheet. I expected a few glitches, but it worked flawlessly. This simple feature will eliminate needless data re-entry and recreation of existing documents.
A PDF Portfolio is a relatively new format that can group a set of documents into one file, without changing each individual file. Individual files are easily viewed inside of the portfolio or extracted from it.
Files that can be part of a portfolio include:
PDFMicrosoft Office Files, including Word and ExcelLive WebsitesEmbedded or linked videosImagesFlash files
While PDF Portfolios aren’t new in this version, they are much easier to work with. Just 3 easy steps will produce a great PDF Portfolio.
Simply choose Create PDF Portfolio > Choose Layout > Add Files. From here you can customize background image, file order, color palette and fonts. Without any design experience or the need for other programs, quickly and easily make a professional and function portfolio. What is a PDF?
Improved data collectionPermanent Information RemovalAdvanced Security ToolsImproved Optical Character Recognition (OCR) of Scanned Documents
An alternative to Adobe Acrobat is NitroPro.

Website Dates

Dates when looking at websitesThere are just over 9 billion pages on the Internet, so what clues can you pick up from just checking the date of a site?
Most websites should show their date, which is usually found at the top or bottom of the home page.
If this date is 2011 then you will be fine, this changes to 2012 on the 1st Jan. 2012.
Any site without a date, your advised to leave well alone.
And beyond after a date is not good enough, again your advised to leave well alone.
Do not use a site that has a singular date of 2010 or less.
A date of say, 2007-2011 is fine.
There are many reasons for following these simple guidelines, a lot of old pages are left on the Internet in the hope you might find them and spend some money on them.
This is a favorite trick of the sellers so beware.
If a website is showing the latest date, it shows that the person running that site is keeping it up to date and cares what the public see on their website.
If the website you are looking at is brand new then put in a Google Search, if anyone has found something that is not quite right, someone will have done a review about it that you can read.
Remember there are no garbage men on the Internet, if an owner doesn't take his old pages off, we are left with all the rubbish.
There are so many of these old pages around that sometimes it can feel like information overload, all of us have looked at something of interest on the Internet only to then complicate matters for ourselves by further clicking away and getting nowhere.
This can easily take you away from what you were trying to look up in the first place, sometimes the road to choose is the least complicated one, and often it's the least complicated one that gives you the best result.
Using a Search Engine is the sensible way to check out a website, make sure you read the reviews about that site.
Try looking at more than one review and take note it is quite common for reviews that are written by the very people who are after your money, so take care.
After all this doom and gloom, may I just brighten things up by saying, that there are plenty of good honest websites on the Internet, once found you can bookmark them so you can easily return at a later date for anything new they may have added.
May I wish you all happy Browsing, Mark.

Start an Online Business

Eager to launch your online business, but not sure where to start? With improving technology, including excellent online tools and lower costs, there has never been an easier time to put your business online. These 10 steps will get you online in no time. Or for an even faster start, follow this 9 Step Quick Start Guide.
What is your experience with the Internet? Do you still think "MySpace" is your little office under the stairs? Do you raise an eyebrow when your daughter talks about "tweeting"?
Success online requires spending significant time:
Researching competitorsUnderstanding how Web tools work (Twitter, RSS Feeds, etc.)Becoming familiar with the culture of the Internet
Your domain is your unique address on the Internet. It is your piece of intellectual property, just like a patent or a trademark. There are numerous registrars (companies that register domains) online where you can purchase your domain.
Some registrars even offer "free" domains with a hosting package or another purchase. While many of these are legitimate, be sure to confirm that the domain is registered in your name. If the domain is registered in the registrars name it may be difficult, if not impossible, to switch to another hosting company without losing your domain.
Domain registrars:
A Web host is the company that essentially will "rent" you space on their servers to host your website. These companies usually offer domain registration and it’s often easier to have both with the same company.
Web host features such as storage capacity, uptime percentage, domain based email and server security should be evaluated. Also, the ability to host a blog, provide response forms, marketing tools and tools for e-commerce are important criteria to consider when choosing your Web host.
Web Hosting Providers:
This isn’t as difficult as it sounds. You have two options for site creation:
Create the site yourself, orHire a designer to create it for you.
There are at least three options for creating your own site.
Many hosting companies offer free site building tools. WordPress is a popular free tool – both for websites and stand-alone blogs. It is a very simple install, with many hosting companies having install tools just for WordPress. You won’t need years of study and thick manuals to use this software. The other option is to use a high-end program like Dreamweaver by Adobe (Visit Adobe's Website) which will do everything you need, but has a pretty steep learning curve. One of the training manuals for Dreamweaver is an overwhelming 1000 pages thick.
Hiring a professional designer may be a simpler option. This isn’t necessarily expensive. By using services like Craig’s List or Elance.com you can find designers eager for your work. Expect to pay from $50 to $100 to have a designer assist in the install of your free WordPress software on your hosting space. In addition to the visual design work, you'll need to give significant thought to your site content.
The days of printing and faxing an order form, or mailing a check are long gone. Online payment acceptance is the foundation of an online business. This allows clients to act on an impulse.
Accepting Online Payments:
Shopping Carts:
Be sure to check for required features and their terms. Minimum monthly fees can affect a start-up business. Its best to choose a capable service provider that allows growth, so you can start with basic services and low cost and upgrade as your volume increases.
Determine Product Delivery Methods
Depending on your product type, your delivery methods can range from very simple (downloadable information product or an online service) to more complex (shipping of goods via courier, using a fulfillment company). For downloadable products consider an electronic fulfillment company like E-junkie.com.
Fulfillment Companies, for shipping of physical goods:
Even the most cutting edge design and amazing new product is worthless if it’s buried under millions of other websites. Consider these basic methods of promoting your new site:
Register with the three major search engines (Google, Bing and Yahoo)List your blog in the major blog directoriesContent marketing, video and audio podcastOnline Advertising: Google and Facebook ads.Direct mailing (print, not email)Offline marketing (billboards, company vehicles, stationary, print ads, promotional products)
Collection of client and prospect email (and other contact information) is critical to the growth of every online business. However, a large and growing list is only valuable when useful and relevant information is sent on a regular basis to these individuals. The goal of an email list is to turn prospects into clients and clients into ambassadors for your company/product.
Some popular options include:
For more options, check out the Email Marketing Review
Easy (and free) tools are available that allow you to see who clicked where and when. Many Web hosting companies offer traffic analyzing tools.
Google Analytics is a free tool – which tracks, among other things:
Popular pages Traffic sourcesPopular keywordsLocation of clicks
These reports can be customized with a plethora of variables including date range, page views, and length of time on site.
While visitor traffic provides an interesting gauge, what you are really looking for is transactions. Whether you are selling a product or a service, success is measured in sales.
In addition to the specific online considerations, you’ll need to consider:

What is your desire behind starting an online business? Is it that you want to make money just for the sake of making money? Making money is not your ultimate purpose to get started with your online business.
The ultimate purpose to get started might be something that you feel money can buy. Probably it might be getting a BMW, giving excellent education to your kids or probably having the ultimate freedom from your job.

Shopify Review

Shopify (www.shopify.com) is a hosted ecommerce software aimed at small online retailers. Their main goal is to make it easy for online retailers to get a store up quickly and start shipping product as soon as possible. Being a second generation ecommerce solution (Shopify was launched in 2006), they have learned from the best practices and mistakes of older ecommerce software.Shopify provides most of the features a small retailer needs while still being extremely easy to use. This combination of just-enough-features and focus on ease-of-use makes building, customizing, and using a Shopify store a very pleasant experience -- a claim very few ecommerce platforms can make. On top of its power and ease, Shopify also has an affordable pricing structure. All of this makes launching an online business possible for very small home-based retailers.
1. Technology and Hosting
What's good:
Because Shopify is a hosted solution, all of the technical heavy lifting is taken care of by the Shopify team. You don't need to find your own Web hosting or deal with software installation and upgrades.
What sets Shopify apart from other hosted ecommerce solutions is the friendly pricing. For a small retailer with less than 100 unique product SKUs, Shopify only costs $24 / month. (For pricing details, see our Shopify profile.) A standalone Web hosting plan could cost that much on its own!
Even though you can have a fully functional store without getting your own Web hosting, Shopify does give you the option to host your store at your own domain. If you wanted to, you can easily have your store at www.myonlinestore.com versus the default location of myonlinestore.shopify.com.
What's bad:
Not much. Shopify's hosting infrastructure is fast and reliable. The only downside to using a hosted ecommerce software is you can't upload additional software. For example, you can't upload forum software to www.myonlinestore.com/forums because you won't have access to your store's hosting account. But that's an issue with all hosted software, and you can easily work around that restriction by having software installed on a sub-domain (eg., forums.myonlinestore.com).
2. Product Listings
What's good:
Shopify's product upload form is easy to use. There are enough fields to accomodate the vast majority of sellers without making the upload form too complex. Shopify allows multiple pictures per product, product variations (different sizes, colors, etc), stock level tracking, and product tags (categories). Product URLs are sensible and SEO friendly.
Shopify also has a bulk product upload facility. You can create a comma separated file (CSV) of products to quickly fill out your store. One of the best features of Shopify is the ability to upload images using the bulk uploader. You can specify the Web address of a product's image in the CSV file, and Shopify will automatically import, resize, and use that image. This feature is a huge time saver. Many first generation ecommerce solutions allow bulk product uploads, but still require you to manually upload product pictures one at a time, thereby eliminating the benefits gained from bulk uploading.
Products can be organized into categories (or "collections" in Shopify lingo). Products can also be tagged -- think of tags as secondary categories for your products.
What's bad:
You can't create custom fields like you could with self-hosted software like osCommerce.
3. Design
What's good:
Shopify offers 5 store templates you can use immediately. The design templating system allows you (or a Web designer you hire) to modify any template using a simplified programming language they call "liquid". This system also allows you to create a design from scratch.
The 3rd party design community around Shopify is growing quickly. As Shopify has grown over the last few years, many Web design firms have begun to specialize in building or customizing Shopify templates. Furthermore, Shopify offers a public forum for sellers to talk to each other. The Design sub-forum is the most active section. Because of this ecosystem and the ease of its templating system, Shopify stores are some of the most beautiful online stores on the Web. (See our Shopify profile for links to sample stores.)
What's bad:
There's only 5 designs to choose from when you get started, and none of them look that great. They are good enough to launch a store with, but you will probably want to hire a Web designer to create a custom layout for your store. Fortunately, many Web designers are starting to specialize in Shopify designs.

Why Are Online Businesses Booming?

Without doubt the internet has changed the way that we live our lives. This has been particularly apparent with recent sales figures for many retailers including Next showing a slump in high street shop sales and a growth within online shopping sales proving that the internet is now the preferred method of shopping for many of us. Sadly this has resulted in the closure of many high street stores, especially electrical retailers, as they battle stiff competition from online retailers.During the past ten years the growth of the internet has resulted in many individual success stories and has also strengthened sales for many established businesses as they also use websites to generate extra revenue. Experts predict that by 2020 90% of transactions will take place online or will be influenced by the internet.
With this in mind there has never been a better time to start an internet online business. Statistics show that the demand and audience is huge so what better way to capitalise on this demand than by starting an online business.
Internet businesses involve less risk, cost and effort and most can be started straight away. To create a successful home online business you will need to take the following into consideration:
Look For A Product That Doesn't Have A Market Leader
If you want to become a successful entrepreneur you will need to find a niche that is quite unique without massive competition. One such example was a lady who found a gap in the market for providing baby products and accessories in your own home. She thought of the idea after having a baby of her own. She has now formed a very successful business providing this service.
Having a passion for what you are selling is also crucial to your success. This was the case for twelve year old Louis Barnett who created a successful confectionary company selling chocolates to top retailers. He left school with severe dyslexia and dyspraxia but his desire to be able to spell the word chocolate inspired him to set up his own company selling chocolate. He scored the highest score ever for his pitch with one retailer which even at twelve years old was full of passion fuelled by his belief in his product.
Write Up A Good Business Plan To Get Funding For Your Business
Presenting a good business plan will help you to get the necessary funds to start your on line business. Make sure that you ask for adequate funds at the beginning to ensure the success of your business. Asking for too little funds is a mistake often made but will only result in your business struggling in the short term.
Register Your Company
If you anticipate that your sales will exceed the current threshold of £73k you will need to register your company for VAT.
On line traders also need to ensure that they comply with data protection legislation when storing information on customers.
Create A Good Website
With any internet business it is crucial to create a powerful website to attract customers to your business. Your website acts as a shop window for your business and will determine how successful your business will become.
Whilst it is cheaper to install your own website it is better, if financially possible, to outsource this task as this can be the difference between making sales or not.
You will need to ensure that your website is appealing as people will buy if they like what they see. Make sure that the website is easy to navigate especially on the ordering page as people will tend to leave if the sales process is too difficult.
Test your website with potential customers, friends and family before launching your website to make sure that it has the necessary appeal.
Marketing Your Business
For an online business, marketing is vital to its success. Effective marketing will ensure that people are drawn to your website over your competitors.
There are several ways in which you can market your online business. You can advertise organically by writing articles or blogs or you can pay for advertising using Google ad words or by paying for SEO. The type of advertising you choose will be largely governed by the type of online business that you have and by the budget that you have available.
Offline advertising such as direct mail can also be very effective in promoting your online business and increasing sales.
Don't Give Up Your Day Job
Don't make the mistake of giving up your day job too soon. Most online businesses only require you to work part time from home to begin with allowing you to work around your current employment and still enjoying the security of earning income while your business gets off the ground.
All in all your internet business will thrive provided that you offer people what they want to buy at a price that they can afford and that you make them aware that you have what they need.
With the ever growing popularity of the internet there has never been a better time to start an internet business. There are many online business ideas, all you need to do is carry out some research to find the best online business for you.
My name is Roy Derrick and I have over 20 years experience in running my own business. What is Content Marketing?

The premise of content marketing goes against the grain of many marketers. For years, companies held information close and only shared with good clients, sometimes even keeping their own clients in the dark. An ignorant market was easier to sell to - or at least that was the idea. In recent years, information has become king. A company that refuses to share information that helps the buying decision will suffer, if not disappear completely. Content marketing definition.
Content marketing is publicly and freely sharing information about your business and industry. It can include text (blogs, ebooks, press releases and tweets), video, audio and online events.
The most common and often the most easily produced content is in written form. And the most common written form is the blog. Learn how to start a blog.
Blogs are easy to begin. A blog can be started for little to no money. Blogs are easy to maintain. From writing daily to a few times a week, an effective blog can be run in a matter of a few hours each week. Your readers are used to the blog format. And are probably comfortable navigating them. The comments on individual blog posts have become a fundamental part of the blog, allowing readers to create content on your platform.E-books: Can answer a specific question for your readers and must be free. Press releases: No longer just for large corporations, a well written press release can significantly help increase exposure to your site and your message.Social Media Content (including tweets and Facebook posts): An excellent medium for sharing news. Works well when combined with the evergreen nature of blogs.Videos and Audio: Can be in the form of a tutorial, a simple explanation or even a rant - as long as it helps educate the reader. These can be distributed through video sharing sites (like YouTube and Vimeo) or as a podcast (using a service like iTunes). Training: While this can be done via pre-recorded method, like the video/audio method above, this is often best done live via a webinar. Students can signup (or enroll) for your course, given at a specific time/day where you will show then how to do something valuable. A word of caution: be sure to test you webinar software/service before you begin offering it to the public. This has the potential of irritate and alienate your students if it doesn’t work properly.
A critical component of content marketing is that it remain free. If it isn’t free, it isn’t marketing - its a product. Which isn’t necessarily bad - but the distinction must be made. To bring in new clients and prospects, you need good marketing which is always provided for free.
